1. Generac locks in Amazon data-center backup power
GNRC disclosed a long-term supply agreement with Amazon: about $2.4 billion of initial backup-generator deliveries in 2027–2028, with related payments that can scale up to an $8 billion threshold. It also issued Amazon’s subsidiary a warrant for about 1.69 million shares (exercise price ~$200.93). GNRC closed Thursday up about 19%, after a session high of more than 30%, and was the top S&P 500 gainer.
🎯 Beneficiaries: GNRC, AMZN; Key catalyst: AI data-center power bottleneck is now backed by a real order book; watch capacity expansion and delivery cadence.

2. Intel turnaround trade: SK Hynix in talks on Ohio memory capacity
Reuters reported that SK Hynix is exploring leasing or jointly using Intel’s Ohio plant to make memory chips in the U.S.; both sides said no deal is finalized. INTC rose another ~8% Thursday to about $109, and Barclays upgraded the stock to Overweight. AMD gained ~6.4% and NVDA ~2.5%; the chip gauge rose more than 3%.
🎯 Beneficiaries: INTC, AMD, NVDA, MRVL; Key catalyst: foundry-customer narrative plus falling yields; near-term trade is news confirmation and volume.

3. Ciena sets a ~$14 billion FY29 revenue framework
At its investor event, Ciena outlined ~30% compound growth, implying about $14 billion of FY29 revenue, and said the outlook uses a conservative view of inside-the-data-center optical demand. Barclays raised its price target from $475 to $548. CIEN spiked to about $376 intraday before giving back most of the move, but still traded well above its recent washout range.
🎯 Beneficiaries: CIEN, GLW; Key catalyst: optics shifting from “AI slowdown fear” back to order and guidance verification.

4. Super Micro follows through: Goldman lifts the AI-server TAM
SMCI closed Thursday up about 9.5% at ~$40.3. The tape digested Goldman’s projection that the global AI-server market could reach $1.3 trillion by 2030, plus reports that Apple is evaluating a return to enterprise servers with M8 Ultra silicon and possible Nvidia networking (plans can still change).
🎯 Beneficiaries: SMCI, AAPL, NVDA; Key catalyst: AI-server TAM re-rating; watch whether Friday extends Thursday’s high-volume bounce.

5. SEC issues a five-year “Innovation Exemption” for on-chain trading of tokenized U.S. stocks
The SEC approved temporary, conditional relief allowing qualifying Tokenized Securities Venues (TSVs) to trade tokenized NMS stocks via permissioned AMMs. Issuers may opt out. The exemption lasts five years and includes symbol and volume caps. Coinbase has said it plans to launch tokenized stocks in the U.S. once rules allow; Robinhood and Kraken already offer similar products overseas.
🎯 Beneficiaries: COIN, HOOD; Key catalyst: regulatory clearance lifts crypto-linked risk appetite; note the relief excludes synthetic tokens and remains condition-bound.

Trading note: Thursday’s Nasdaq rose ~1.7% and the S&P ~1.1% as flows rotated from the rate-hike shock back into AI infrastructure (power → chips → optics). For Friday, watch whether the 10-year stays below 5% and whether oil’s pullback holds, plus whether GNRC/INTC see profit-taking after the spike. Position sizing first; do not chase.

Korea's "Memory Chip Giants" Support Bullish Stock and FX Outlook! Citi Trading Head Favors Contrarian KRW Positioning Around 1400

The recent weakness of the Korean won may only be temporary, as the growth of South Korea’s chip industry is expected to boost the won and support its recovery against the US dollar before the end of the year. The Federal Reserve's hawkish stance and inflation concerns related to rising oil prices could cause the won to temporarily fall below the 1,400 won per US dollar level in the short term.
