French President Macron stated on September 18, local time, that France will push the European Union to take action to address energy issues. He also believes it is unlikely in the short term that the US and Iran will reach an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz issue. Macron pointed out that in recent weeks, fuel prices have risen sharply, putting French citizens and households in a difficult position. Fuel prices at French gas stations have reached historical highs, causing considerable hardship and worsening purchasing power issues. Additionally, natural gas prices and the overall energy situation are also worrying; these circumstances are entirely caused by war and the international situation. Macron said that France hopes to take action at the EU level and will communicate with the President of the European Commission on the matter. (CCTV News).
