On October 6th local time, Google announced a long-term strategic energy partnership with Constellation, a US energy company, with a total capacity of 3.59GW. The deal is divided into two parts: 890MW of newly added nuclear power capacity, expected to be operational between 2028 and 2032 and to last for 20 years; and 2.7GW of flexible capacity, lasting 15 years. With financial support from Google, Constellation will upgrade its 11 nuclear power units across multiple states, creating approximately 7,200 construction jobs during the project period.
