Spain's natural gas import structure in September: liquefied natural gas accounts for nearly 60%
智通财经2026/10/09 14:06According to data from Spain's Natural Gas System Technical Management Agency, about 59.1% of natural gas imports in September were liquefied natural gas. The remaining approximately 40.9% was transported via pipeline. The total natural gas imports for the month reached around 27,900 GWh, compared to about 27,600 GWh in the same period last year, reflecting a slight year-on-year increase. The import structure shows that liquefied natural gas is dominant, while pipeline gas accounts for a relatively lower proportion. At the market level, European storage levels and the pace of liquefied natural gas arrivals continue to be the main variables affecting gas prices. Moving forward, attention should be paid to changes in natural gas demand and inventory levels in Spain and across Europe as a whole.

Hurricane Isaias approaches, causing 72% of crude oil production in the Gulf of Mexico to halt
As Category 3 Hurricane Isaias approaches the U.S. Gulf Coast, local oil producers have suspended around 1.46 million barrels per day of crude oil production, accounting for 72% of the region's total output. According to the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, as of 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday (midnight Beijing time on October 10), workers have been evacuated from 129 offshore platforms, and two mobile drilling rigs have been relocated out of the storm's path. BP has shut down production at the Thunder Horse and Na Kika platforms and evacuated non-essential personnel from three other platforms. The supply interruption has pushed Gulf of Mexico crude oil prices higher, with Mars crude currently carrying a premium of about $3 per barrel over WTI crude, and Thunder Horse crude maintaining a premium of more than $4 per barrel for two consecutive trading days.
