On October 9, shares of auto parts manufacturer Standard Motor Products (SMP.N) edged down 0.4% in volatile after-hours trading, closing at $36.52. SMP announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Nathan Iles, will resign on October 30, as he plans to serve as CFO at another public company and move closer to his family. Current board member James Burke will serve as interim CFO starting October 30 until a permanent successor is appointed, according to the company's statement. “During his tenure, Nathan has played an important role in strengthening our financial organization, supporting our strategic growth plans, maintaining disciplined capital allocation, and enhancing our capabilities as a public company,” said CEO Eric Sills. As of the previous trading day close, SMP shares have declined slightly year-to-date.
