1. What is trailing stop?

The trailing stop feature continuously tracks the highest equity (principal + floating P/L) your copy trading account has reached. Once your account equity pulls back from that peak by the percentage you've set, the system automatically cancels your copy trade. This triggers whether your account is currently in profit or loss—locking in floating gains when you're in profit and limiting maximum losses when you're in a loss, so you don't have to monitor the market constantly.

2. What it can do for you

Automatically locks in floating gains after your account becomes profitable, helping prevent market pullbacks from eroding your profits.

Automatically stops you out when you're in a loss, helping prevent losses from snowballing.

Sends you a site message when triggered, so you'll always know why your copy trade was canceled.

3. How to get started

1. Go to the CFD copy trading settings page. Under Copy Trading Amount, find Trailing Stop and enable it.

2. Enter a drawdown percentage (a whole number between 5% and 99%).

3. Once enabled, you'll see the corresponding trigger equity based on your settings. Your copy trade will be automatically canceled once your account equity falls to this level.

4. FAQs

4.1 Trailing stop

1. How is trailing stop calculated?

The system records the highest equity your account has reached since you started copy trading (its high-water mark). Deposits and withdrawals aren't treated as gains or losses, so they won't accidentally trigger the feature. Once your current equity falls from that high-water mark by your configured percentage, your copy trade is automatically canceled and your positions are closed at the market price.

2. What if my account has been losing money the whole time and has never been in profit?

In this case, the peak is simply your account equity when you first started copy trading. Once your account equity falls below that starting value by your configured percentage, it triggers a stop-out, functioning the same as a regular stop-loss.

3. Can I set up trailing stop and a fixed TP/SL at the same time?

Yes. The two features don't conflict with each other. Whichever is triggered first takes effect.

4. When does trailing stop take effect after it is triggered?

The system checks your account equity approximately every 10 seconds, so there may be a delay of up to 10 seconds before the feature takes effect. Since positions are closed at the market price, slippage may occur, meaning your actual account equity when your copy trade is canceled may differ slightly from your configured trigger equity.

4.2 Elite trader reference data

1. When I set my copy trading multiplier or maximum lot size, what does the reference data shown by the system mean?

The system displays the average opening lot size and opening value of the three highest-volume instruments based on the elite trader's approximately 200 most recent completed trades. This helps you estimate the real monetary value represented by your selected multiplier or maximum lot size, rather than relying on guesswork.

2. Why do some instruments show "--"?

If an instrument has no trading history, no reference data is currently available. This doesn't mean your settings are invalid.

3. Does this reference data change as the elite trader trades?

Yes. The reference data is calculated based on the elite trader's recent completed trades, so the reference values update as their trading behavior changes.

4. What does it mean when I'm warned that "the value per copy trade is large"?

If the estimated value of a single copy trade, based on your current multiplier, is significantly higher than the amount you've allocated to this copy trade, the system will remind you to consider the potential impact of position fluctuations on your principal. This is only a risk warning and won't prevent you from continuing with your settings.

4.3 Withdrawals

1. If trailing stop is enabled, how does withdrawing funds affect it?

Withdrawing funds lowers your account equity. If trailing stop is enabled, the withdrawal pop-up will display your current trigger equity. After each deposit or withdrawal, the system will update the trigger equity in real time. Deposits or withdrawals themselves will not trigger the trailing stop.
