The latest weekly survey released by the American Association of Individual Investors on Friday shows that bearish sentiment among investors has risen to the highest level since 2025, against the backdrop of persistently high oil prices and the Federal Reserve’s first interest rate hike since 2023.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed an executive order to convene experts to explore potential AI regulatory policies. These include requiring advanced AI labs to involve independent assessment bodies, third-party verification of their safety frameworks and reports, as well as implementing a built-in “kill switch” in cutting-edge models. Newsom's office criticized Trump for being “asleep at the wheel” on AI regulation, stating that California will fill the regulatory gap at the federal level.
