Societe Generale: February U.S. CPI is expected to be the focus of attention next week
According to Jin10, Societe Generale said that the US CPI in February should be the most watched economic data next week. The overall CPI is expected to be strong, with the monthly rate expected to be 0.4%. The core CPI monthly rate is likely to be between 0.2-0.3%. According to our calculations, it may be recorded as 0.2% after rounding. Stubborn inflation and a resilient job market remain clouds over when the Fed will begin cutting interest rates, but Chairman Jerome Powell and others have said they still expect a cut to occur later in 2024.
