Sources say that the White House is preparing to select Christy Goldsmith Romero, a senior official at the US derivatives regulatory agency, to lead reform efforts at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The sources said that no final decision has been made and an announcement may be made as early as this week.
