Bloomberg: X Payments has obtained money transmission licenses in 28 US states
According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk's fully owned subsidiary X Payments has obtained currency transfer licenses in 28 US states. It is seeking licenses in all 50 states and hopes to launch payment services across the US later this year. Documents show that X originally planned to release payment features internationally as early as the beginning of 2024, but delayed those plans due to regulatory resistance.
