Citi Analysts Predict 8 Weeks of Fed Rate Cuts Since September
Analysts at Citi, the US multinational investment bank and financial services firm, are predicting that the Federal Reserve will begin cutting interest rates in September, totaling 200 basis points over the next eight Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meetings.
Citi expects the federal funds rate, currently at 5.25%-5.5%, to fall to around 3.25%-3.5% by the summer of 2025. Analysts at Citi attribute this to a period of weak economic growth and deceleration.
