Analyst: Investors may get clues on policy timetable from Fed meeting minutes
Pan Sen macro analyst Oliver Allen said that although there may not be much new content in the upcoming minutes of the May monetary policy meeting of the Federal Reserve, investors may be able to obtain much-needed key information - the time frame for policy adjustments that Federal Reserve officials are considering while waiting for further clarity on the direction of the economy. He pointed out that there are divergent forecasts on the timing of the policy shift in recent speeches by Federal Reserve officials: New York Fed President Williams gave a range of "June or July," while Atlanta Fed President Bostic expected "three to six months." He emphasized in the report: "This meeting's minutes may at least reveal some clues as to when Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) members expect to have enough decision-making basis."
