ICP Breaks $5.85 Support Zone, Targets 36% Surge Toward $8.12

  • The trendline on ICP’s chart has been descending over the past months, but now, the price has begun to go up, indicating a possible change in trend direction.
  • The current price is facing resistance at $6.20, and it could reach $8.12 in the short term.
  • The price broke out after being stable between $5.00 and $5.85 for several weeks, with trading volume indicating a rise.

Internet Computer (ICP) has recently moved out of a multi-week consolidation phase, breaking above a descending trendline that had capped price advances since February. The breakout is seen as technically significant, especially as the price has now surpassed a major accumulation zone that acted as a base for nearly two months. At the time of analysis, ICP is trading at $5.93, recording a modest daily gain of 1.0%, with further gains potentially on the horizon.

The chart reveals that ICP had been trading within a tightly defined horizontal support range between $5.00 and $5.85. This range acted as a critical structure, with multiple rejections and retests signaling strong buyer interest at those levels. The recent breakout occurred on increased volume, giving further weight to the upward move. Technical projections place the short-term target around $8.12, representing a potential gain of roughly 36% from the breakout point.

Trendline Break Highlight Technical Momentum

A notable feature of the chart is the descending trendline that extended from early 2024. ICP’s recent movement above this line marks the first significant bullish break in several months. If the price manages to stay above the support level of $5.85, it could mean the trend is flipping, which would be a sign of a possible reversal. If the price rises above $6.20, it will confirm the momentum is moving toward a bullish trend.

Alongside its USD price rise, ICP has also posted a 2.0% gain against BTC. The broader market context has been relatively stable, suggesting that the breakout is more chart-driven than sentiment-driven. The 24-hour trading range has remained within $5.85 to $6.20, reflecting controlled movement rather than volatility spikes.

Outlook and Considerations

With the breakout confirmed above previous resistance levels and the price structure pointing to higher targets, traders and analysts are now watching for volume support and sustained closes above $6.20. Until then, the risk remains of a pullback to retest the breakout area. ICP’s technical position currently favors the bulls, but market reaction in the coming sessions will be key to validating the setup.

Once frenzied buying, now the "ammunition warehouse" shrinks by 51 trillion KRW! Korean retail investors can no longer afford to buy

In four months, Korean retail investors' "ammunition stockpile" has dropped by 36.5%, returning to levels seen at the beginning of the year. Although retail investors have collectively made net purchases exceeding 75 trillion won, they are still absorbing the sell-off, but the influx of new funds has dried up, and the replenishment rate lags far behind the consumption rate. Combined with the KOSPI plunging nearly 20% this month, continued net selling by foreign investors, and concerns over AI-related credit risks, the Korean stock market may find it difficult to see a sustained rebound in the short term without support from private investors' funds.

The Collapse of "Consensus Trading" and the Birth of a New Consensus! Goldman Sachs Explains: Why Institutions Are Currently Significantly Reducing AI Holdings

The extremely crowded trade of "going long on AI, short on everything else" is undergoing a painful unwinding—markets are no longer satisfied with the "burn rate narrative." Mega-scale cloud providers must deliver real, visible revenue conversions alongside $1.1 trillion in capital expenditures. A power gap of 40-50 gigawatts, rising capital costs, and a macro paradigm shift from an era of "overspending" are turning AI trades from a matter of faith into a harsh test of monetization.
