Cosmos Hub Suspends Plans to Launch EVM Platform
On July 16, Cosmos shared its product updates and future plans for this year on the X platform. The team announced that it will pause the launch of the EVM platform on Cosmos Hub and will reassess the related approach, but will continue to invest in the Cosmos EVM L1 stack to support builders in launching independent EVM chains. The team stated that the EVM initiative offers a promising and unique role for the Hub within the Cosmos ecosystem. Future virtual machine (VM) or Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) upgrades may still unlock new services or onboarding pathways. Therefore, the team is willing to revisit this approach as they continue to learn about the needs of institutions and L1 builders.
