Michael Saylor: Bitcoin volatility has dropped to around 50%, and its long-term performance may exceed the S&P 500 index by 1.5 times
ChainCatcher news, according to a report by Cointelegraph, Strategy founder Michael Saylor dismissed concerns that Wall Street's entry into the bitcoin market could impact its price and volatility.
In an interview on Tuesday, Michael Saylor stated: "I think bitcoin's volatility has already decreased significantly." He noted that when he started buying bitcoin for Strategy in 2020, its annualized volatility was about 80%. Since then, bitcoin's volatility has been on a downward trend and is currently around 50%. He said that bitcoin's volatility may further decrease by about 5 percentage points every few years, and as the asset matures, bitcoin's volatility will approach 1.5 times that of the S&P 500 Index, while "its performance will also be 1.5 times better than the S&P 500."
