Instant is suitable for writing and information search; Thinking excels at in-depth tasks such as programming and planning; Pro provides the most accurate responses to complex problems.
OpenAI stated that the core goal of GPT-5.2 is to make AI more "economically valuable" in real work scenarios. In addition, GPT-5.2 outperformed industry professionals in multiple benchmark tests.
