Trust Wallet to Compensate Affected Users Following $8.5M Security Breach in Browser Extension 2.68 (Dec 24–26)
An industry-standard : Trust Wallet disclosed a security vulnerability in its Browser Extension v2.68, impacting users who signed in between December 24 and December 26. Users who received a push notification or saw a security banner may still be using a compromised wallet.
Initial assessments show 2,520 wallet addresses were affected, with attacker-controlled activity linked to roughly $8.5 million in assets across 17 addresses.
In response, Trust Wallet is proactively arranging compensation for victims, completing ownership-verification steps, and notifying those impacted. Affected users should submit claims through the official support form to begin the process.
