UK house prices unexpectedly fell in December, marking the weakest annual growth since April 2024

According to Golden Ten Data on January 2, UK house prices unexpectedly fell in December. According to the monthly data released by Nationwide Building Society on Friday, house prices in December declined by 0.4% month-on-month, resulting in an annual increase of only 0.6% for the whole of 2025 compared to the previous year, marking the weakest annual growth since April 2024. Economists surveyed by Reuters had previously expected house prices to rise by 0.1% month-on-month in December, with a year-on-year increase of 1.2%.
