Kalshi CEO supports legislation banning officials from insider trading on prediction platforms

On January 8, Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour stated on LinkedIn that Kalshi supports the legislation proposed by New York Democratic Congressman Ritchie Torres, which aims to prohibit government officials from engaging in insider trading on platforms similar to Kalshi. Tarek Mansour pointed out that recent alleged insider trading incidents mainly involve unregulated offshore prediction platforms. It is reported that Ritchie Torres plans to introduce the "2026 Financial Prediction Market Public Integrity Act" this week, which would prohibit federal elected officials, political appointees, and executive branch employees from trading on prediction markets when they possess non-public information or may obtain such information through their positions.
