Glonghui January 8th｜BMW Group will launch three brand-new electric vehicle models in India. The German automaker is seeking to further expand its leading position in the luxury car segment in the world’s third-largest automotive market. According to Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW India, although the company has not yet disclosed specific details of the new models, its strategy in India will focus on pure electric vehicles, and currently there are no plans to introduce hybrid vehicles to this market. He stated that BMW aims for electric vehicles to account for one-quarter of its sales in the South Asian country by 2026, compared to 21% last year. The manufacturer, which sold approximately 18,000 vehicles in 2025, is already close to achieving this goal: in the quarter ending December 31, electric vehicles accounted for 23% of sales.
