Morgan Stanley: Inflation data is insufficient to support a Fed rate cut in January
According to Odaily, Ellen Zentner, Chief US Economist at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, commented on US inflation: "We have seen this situation before. Inflation has not reaccelerated, but it remains above target levels. The cost pass-through from tariffs is still limited, but there has been no improvement in housing affordability. Today's inflation report is not sufficient to provide the Federal Reserve with the necessary basis to cut interest rates later this month." (Golden Ten Data)
