Glonghui Jan 16|According to sources cited by the media, Ford Motor is in talks with BYD regarding the supply of batteries for hybrid vehicles at its overseas factories. Anonymous sources stated that BYD is one of several battery suppliers Ford is currently in contact with. They added that no deal has been reached so far. The negotiations are reportedly aimed at supplying batteries for Ford’s expanding line of hybrid vehicles, with the batteries intended for Ford’s international factories. Insiders pointed out that the hybrid vehicles produced at Ford’s overseas plants will be sold globally, including in the U.S. market, but that most of the hybrid vehicles Ford sells in the United States will still be produced at its North American factories. As of now, BYD has not responded. A Ford spokesperson said that the company maintains communications with many enterprises on various matters but does not comment on rumors or speculation related to its business.
