Solana Mobile, the hardware arm of the Solana ecosystem, has unveiled a new airdrop program aimed at Seeker smartphone users and active application developers. Announced on Tuesday, the program directly allocated the ecosystem’s native asset, SKR, to the wallets of eligible participants. The company emphasized that this distribution aims to redefine the balance of ownership and incentives in mobile networks in favor of users, impacting over 100,000 individuals. The airdrop coincides with the launch of Solana Mobile’s second season campaign.
Solana Mobile Empowers Users with Massive SKR Airdrop
Scope of the SKR Airdrop
The airdrop program targets users of the Android-based Seeker device and developers who showcased “qualified applications” during the first season of the Solana dApp Store. Seeker owners can claim their allocated SKR balance using the integrated wallet on the device. This claiming process is limited to a 90-day period; unclaimed tokens will be returned to the airdrop pool after this timeframe.
Developers aren’t simply required to publish applications. The platform prioritized applications that foster active user interaction and add value to the ecosystem. This approach ensures that the distribution benefits not only hardware users but the software facet of the ecosystem as well.
SKR boasts a total supply of 10 billion tokens. Thirty percent of this supply is allocated for airdrops and unlocking events at the launch phase. The token is designed for wide-ranging uses from network governance to economic incentives.
Inflation Model, Staking, and Expansion of the Seeker Ecosystem
Solana Mobile encourages airdrop recipients to stake their tokens. Official reports indicate that inflation events for SKR occur every 48 hours. Starting at an annual inflation rate of 10%, this reduces by 25% each year, eventually stabilizing at 2%. The model is structured linearly to reward early participants.
The airdrop’s timing aligns with the second season campaign for Seeker. In this new phase, projects centered on DeFi, gaming, payment systems, trading applications, and DePIN are highlighted. It plans to offer users early access and app-based rewards.
Seeker positions itself as a successor to Solana Mobile’s first device, Saga. It features the Seed Vault secure key storage solution and a built-in Solana dApp Store. In an August announcement, the company stated that Seeker had received 150,000 pre-orders, with deliveries distributed across more than 50 countries. According to market data, SKR increased by 54% in the past 24 hours, trading at $0.01062 on CoinGecko.
