Industrial goods and raw material price indices, December 2025
Canadian Manufacturing Price Trends in December
In December, the Industrial Product Price Index (IPPI), which tracks the prices of goods produced in Canada, fell by 0.6% compared to the previous month but was up 4.9% from the same period last year. Meanwhile, the Raw Materials Price Index (RMPI), reflecting the cost of raw materials purchased by Canadian manufacturers, saw a 0.5% monthly increase and a 6.4% rise year over year.
Although both indexes showed similar month-over-month trends across related commodity groups, the overall results differed due to variations in how these groups are weighted within each index.
