Eurozone Private Sector Maintains Growth at Start of 2026
Early PMI® survey results indicate that the eurozone’s private sector continued to expand in January 2026. The rise in business activity was fueled by an uptick in new orders, and business confidence reached its highest level in nearly two years.
However, there were some challenges. For the first time in four months, companies reduced their workforce, with significant job losses reported in Germany. Additionally, both input costs and output prices saw inflation accelerate compared to December. Notably, the increase in selling prices was the sharpest recorded since April 2024.
