Vale's 2025 iron ore production to reach highest level since the 2019 dam collapse disaster

Glonghui, January 28th｜Vale's production of steelmaking raw materials in 2025 has surpassed any period since the key mining area was restricted following the tailings dam disaster in 2019—iron ore output reached 336.1 million tonnes, approaching the all-time high set in 2018. The company’s iron ore production in the fourth quarter was 90.4 million tonnes, driven by increased output from some mines in southeastern Brazil, exceeding the level of the same period last year. Despite market concerns about oversupply, Vale has maintained its full-year production guidance for 2026 at 335 million to 345 million tonnes.
