The recent decline in Bitcoin prices has overshadowed developments in the altcoin sector. However, Ripple has received a significant license that will greatly benefit the company in the long term. With the full acquisition of a license it had previously obtained preliminary approval for, Ripple is now legally permitted to operate within the European Economic Area.
Ripple Achieves Major Milestone with EU License Approval
Ripple Expands Its Reach
Blockchain-based payment infrastructure company Ripple announced that it has received the full Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). With this approval, Ripple can now offer its Ripple Payments services as a licensed entity across European Union countries.
Securing the EMI license from Luxembourg’s financial regulatory agency is a momentous step for Ripple, despite not impacting the price of XRP Coin. It marks a significant milestone for regulated payment service operations in Europe. Ripple is now positioned to offer its cross-border payment products more freely to banks, fintech companies, and businesses within the EU block.
To date, Ripple has acquired a total of 75 different approvals and licenses. The recent licenses obtained in the United Kingdom and the European Union are anticipated to accelerate Ripple’s growth as a regulated crypto and payment service provider worldwide.
A New Era in Financial Services
Ripple’s General Manager for the UK and Europe, Cassie Craddock, stated, “Obtaining our full EMI license in the EU is a transformative milestone that strengthens Ripple’s presence at the heart of European finance.
Europe has always been a strategic priority for us, and this authorization allows us to expand our mission to provide a robust, compliant blockchain infrastructure to customers across the EU. We are now better positioned than ever to aid European businesses in transitioning to a more efficient, digital-first financial era.”
Following the acquisition of the EU EMI license and FCA approvals, the growth of RLUSD is also expected to accelerate.

Tonight the Fed rate hike is almost certain; the market is closely watching Waller's remarks: will a signal of continued rate hikes be released?
What the market truly cares about is: the dot plot will reveal how many more rate hikes are expected this year, and whether Waller will send signals of ongoing tightening. Citi predicts this will be a “dovish hike”; Goldman Sachs bluntly states that this rate hike lacks sufficient economic basis; Standard Chartered believes the hike itself is a policy mistake. If there’s a signal of aggressive consecutive hikes, it could trigger market turmoil; the most dangerous tail risk is an unexpected pause, which could spark a credibility crisis and sharp equity sell-off.
