Glonghui, February 3rd|Driven by the rebound in the precious metals market and the renewed frenzy for artificial intelligence trading, Asian stock markets have recovered part of the ground lost during Monday's sharp sell-off. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index once rose by 2.3%, marking its largest gain since June last year. Most markets in the region recorded gains, with several Korean stocks such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix leading the Asian benchmark index. Stock markets in Japan, Taiwan, and Australia also rose by more than 1%. As investors poured back into semiconductor and AI-related stocks, market risk appetite broadly recovered on Tuesday. During Tuesday's session, spot gold once surged 4.2%, breaking through $4,855 per ounce, before narrowing its gains. Kinger Lau, Chief Equity Strategist at Goldman Sachs, stated that the collapse in metal prices is destructive to the stock market in the short term and "has created some spillover effects from a liquidity perspective." He added that, supported by the implementation of AI applications and investment-driven profit growth, the stock market is expected to continue rising this year.
