Wistron Executive, Nvidia Supplier: Artificial Intelligence Is Not a Bubble
Wistron Chairman Lin Hsien-ming stated on Friday that artificial intelligence is not a bubble, and that the growth rate of AI-related orders in 2026 will surpass last year's figures.
As a supplier for Nvidia, Lin told reporters in Taipei: "We believe that AI truly empowers all industries, so we do not think this is a bubble. On the contrary, it will open up a whole new era—the new era of AI has already arrived."
He added that Wistron's order outlook is positive through 2027, and the scale of orders for 2026 will see a "significant" increase compared to last year.
Last year, Wistron announced that its new U.S. manufacturing facility for Nvidia would be completed in 2026. The company is also in talks with other potential clients for collaboration.
Lin Hsien-ming revealed that the U.S. manufacturing base will begin mass production in the first half of 2026.
Nvidia plans to build AI servers in the U.S. worth up to $500 billion over the next four years, and Wistron's U.S. facility will support this initiative.
In April last year, Nvidia announced plans to build a supercomputer manufacturing plant in Texas, with the base in Houston being a collaboration with Foxconn, while the Dallas facility is a partnership with Wistron.
