Crude stockpiles increased by 8.5 million barrels last week, according to the EIA
Weekly U.S. Crude Oil and Refinery Update
For the week ending February 6, 2026, U.S. oil refineries processed an average of 16 million barrels of crude oil per day, a decrease of 29,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week. Refineries were running at 89.4% of their total capacity during this period.
Gasoline output saw an uptick, reaching an average of 9.1 million barrels per day. Production of distillate fuels also rose, increasing by 45,000 barrels per day to an average of 4.9 million barrels per day.
Crude oil imports into the United States averaged 6.8 million barrels per day last week, which is 604,000 barrels per day higher than the week before. Over the last four weeks, crude oil imports have shown a steady trend.
