Glonghui, February 12|After Trump reached a trade agreement with India, Indian renewable energy stocks have started to shed their previous “laggard” label. Since the announcement last week, some Indian clean energy stocks have surged to the forefront, whereas at the beginning of the year they were among the weakest performers. Solar companies Insolution Energy and Oriana Power have both risen more than 24% since February, basically recovering the losses from January. Strategists and fund managers are assessing whether this rebound can be sustained. Aniket Shah, Head of Sustainable Development and Transformation Strategy at Jefferies, said: “After the trade agreement was reached, we have seen a clear resurgence of market interest in India as a whole, as well as in India’s energy transition sector.”
