The Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) for the UK Stayed the Same in December

UK Leading Economic Index Holds Steady in December 2025

In December 2025, the Conference Board Leading Economic Index® (LEI) for the United Kingdom stayed flat at 73.8 (2016=100), following a slight dip of 0.1% in November. Over the latter half of 2025, the LEI fell by 0.8%, which is only half the pace of the 1.6% decline seen in the first six months of the year.

Meanwhile, the Conference Board Coincident Economic Index® (CEI) for the UK edged up by 0.1% in December to reach 108.4 (2016=100), after a 0.2% rise in November. For the second half of 2025, the CEI advanced by 0.4%, a slower growth rate compared to the 0.7% increase recorded in the first half of the year.
