According to Fortune, analysis by the nonpartisan think tank Tax Foundation shows that the tariff policies promoted by Trump are expected to result in an average hidden tax increase of $1,300 for American households in 2026, and $1,000 in 2025. Although tax cuts bring refunds, the average American will still lose about $300. Tariffs are expected to generate a net increase of $1.9 trillion in fiscal revenue between 2025 and 2034, but tax cuts will reduce revenue by $4.1 trillion, resulting in an overall negative impact.
