Google's investment in SpaceX may reach a value of $122 billion when the company goes public
Alphabet’s Investment in SpaceX: Potential Value Revealed
Bloomberg reports that Alphabet Inc.’s longstanding stake in SpaceX may become one of its most lucrative assets if the rocket company pursues an initial public offering. Regulatory documents show that Google held approximately 6.11% of SpaceX shares at the close of 2025. Should SpaceX debut at a $2 trillion market capitalization, Google’s share would translate to an estimated $122 billion.
Following SpaceX’s merger with xAI, Google’s ownership is believed to have decreased to about 5%, which would still be valued near $100 billion based on the same IPO estimate. These numbers provide greater clarity regarding Google’s involvement in SpaceX, a relationship previously recognized but not quantified.
