Solana co-founder: If you can't run your own sequencer, it's not permissionless
According to ChainCatcher, Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko (toly), in response to discussions about the degree of decentralization of Hyperliquid, stated that he has made the same criticism about all L2s: to determine whether a system is permissionless, the key is whether users can participate in any part of the protocol stack with their own resources without the approval of a trusted third party.
