Institution: Global dividend growth expected to slow down in 2026

The investment management firm stated in this report that the Iran war and subsequent energy crisis have disrupted many assumptions about the global economy this year. The report tracks the dividend distribution of the world’s largest 1,600 companies. However, the investment management firm noted that companies implementing progressive dividend policies may be reluctant to cut dividends. Capital Group expects total dividends to reach $2.20 trillion in 2026, although this may be more dependent on one-off special dividends than initially anticipated. This implies an annual growth rate of 5.1%, with a core growth rate of 4.7% when excluding special dividends and currency effects.
