After Eli Lilly released trial data for its new-generation weight loss drug Retatrutide, Novo Nordisk's stock price dropped by up to 1.8%.

Eli Lilly stated that in a trial lasting one and a half years, patients who were able to tolerate the highest dose of Retatrutide experienced an average weight loss of 28.3%. Analysts noted that in terms of gastrointestinal side effects, the drug appears comparable to Novo Nordisk's Wegovy (based on the STEP-1 study); however, compared to the currently marketed GLP-1 injectables from Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk, the dropout rate for patients on the highest dose of Retatrutide appears to be relatively high.
