According to CCTV, panic buying has recently occurred at gas stations in some parts of India. In Maharashtra, a fuel station even saw a fuel-grabbing chaos, with about 500 people surrounding a newly arrived tanker truck and scrambling for fuel. The scene was chaotic for a time, and order was only restored after the police intervened.

The person in charge of the gas station stated that if timely police support cannot be obtained and the situation continues to worsen, they will consider temporarily suspending operations. On May 19, gasoline and diesel prices in India were raised by about 90 paise (Indian currency unit) per liter, marking the second fuel price increase in a week after state-owned oil companies ended nearly four years of price freezes. According to industry sources, after this adjustment, the price of gasoline in New Delhi rose from 97.77 rupees per liter to 98.64 rupees per liter, while the price of diesel increased from 90.67 rupees per liter to 91.58 rupees per liter.
