Hassett hopes Powell leaves the Federal Reserve soon so that Walsh can take control "easily"

Jinse Finance reported that on May 22, U.S. National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett, in an interview discussing outgoing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and incoming Chair Kevin Warsh, stated: “I hope he can leave as soon as possible so that Kevin can fully and easily take control of the Federal Reserve.” Hassett added, “I hope Jay (Powell) can step aside so we can appoint another governor to the Federal Reserve.” He also reiterated, “We absolutely respect the independence of the Federal Reserve.”
