- As renewed tensions in the Iran conflict led to rising oil prices and investors sought safe havens, the US dollar remained at high levels after hitting a seven-week high overnight.
- The US military launched new strikes against Iran on Wednesday.
- US President Trump also refuted a report from an Iranian state news agency, which claimed that Iran had received a draft informal agreement to resume shipping through the strait.
