Iran’s Foreign Ministry: We strongly condemn US strikes near Hormuz Strait
An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said during the European trading session on Thursday that Tehran strongly condemns United States (US) strikes near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical passage to almost 20% of global energy supply, calling these strikes a continuous violation of a ceasefire. The Foreign Ministry also expressed solidarity with Oman after the US officials' threats.
Market reaction
No immediate reaction by the US Dollar (USD) after Iran's comments. At press time, the US Dollar Index (DXY) is still 0.12% higher at around 99.30 even after giving back a majority of its early gains.
