According to Moody's Analytics data, since the conflict erupted on February 28, American families have spent an average of $447.19 extra on fuel-related expenses. With surging gasoline and airfare prices, U.S. consumers have collectively lost nearly $60 billion. Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's, said: "Unless the war ends soon, economically strained consumers will have no choice but to be more cautious with their spending, which will threaten an already weak economy."```
