(1) Japan's Nippon Paint Company and the US-based Sherwin-Williams Company have terminated their plan to acquire Akzo Nobel. (2) The two companies stated that this decision was due to Akzo Nobel previously rejecting their cash acquisition offer. (3) Akzo Nobel's share price dropped by as much as 22% in Amsterdam.
