Turkey's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in April edged up from 8.1% in March to 8.2%. The number of unemployed decreased by 5,000 to 2.87 million.
By gender, the unemployment rate was 6.8% for men and 11.0% for women. Among the youth aged 15 to 24, the unemployment rate fell from 15.3% to 14.5%, with 12.0% for men and 19.4% for women.
Meanwhile, the employment rate dropped from 48.7% to 48.1%, with the number of employed decreasing by 356,000 to 32.17 million. The labor force participation rate declined from 53.0% to 52.4%, and the labor force shrank by 361,000 to 35.03 million.
