Pakistan seeks public input on the draft “2026 Virtual Asset Service Regulations”

Foresight News reports that the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) has officially released the draft "2026 Virtual Asset Service Regulation" and is now seeking public, industry, and stakeholder feedback. The consultation period runs from June 11 to July 2, 19:00 (UTC+8). The draft regulation and its supporting activity-specific manuals cover topics such as license categories and application procedures for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP), governance and operational requirements, market conduct standards, technology and cybersecurity, AML/CFT compliance obligations, client asset protection, and more. Special manuals are provided for ten types of licenses, including those for exchanges, custodial services, brokerages, derivatives, and mining services.
