Crypto industry leaders jointly urge the Senate to retain the Clarity Act developer protection provisions
Odaily reported that several crypto industry founders, CEOs, and investors have recently jointly sent a letter to Senate leadership, urging them not to weaken the protections for software developers in the Clarity Act. The letter stated that if these protections are removed, the US could lose relevant technology developers. The US Congress is currently promoting the establishment of a formal regulatory framework for digital assets. The Senate Banking Committee, with bipartisan support, has advanced the Clarity Act, which is now being prepared for a full Senate vote. One of the key components is the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA). This provision stipulates that those who only write open-source software, operate nodes, or help validate transactions, and have never taken custody or control of others' funds, should not be regarded as money transmitters under federal law.
