According to Foresight News, as reported on the official CFTC website, CFTC Chairman Michael Selig has announced two personnel appointments: Donald Battle has been appointed Chief Data Innovation Officer, joining the data division and serving as a member of the Innovation Working Group; J Matthew Haws has been appointed Senior Advisor to the Chairman's Office and Head of the Chicago region. Battle previously served as Senior Advisor to Commissioner Hester Peirce's crypto working group at the SEC and was Assistant Director of the Data Science Team in the SEC's Enforcement Division, with experience in blockchain forensics, data science, and AI solutions. Earlier, he served as Virtual Currency Enforcement Officer at the US Department of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Haws has over 13 years of global financial institutions derivatives regulatory advisory experience and previously worked as Senior Legal Counsel at Marex and as a partner at law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman.

The Federal Reserve announced that during the next monthly cycle ending on October 14, the New York Fed's Open Market Operations Department will not conduct any U.S. Treasury purchases for Reserve Management Purposes (RMP). During this period, approximately $15.6 billion in reinvestment purchase operations will be executed. As of September 9, the U.S. banking reserve balance stood at $3.04 trillion, higher than the year-to-date average level of $3.01 trillion.
