According to ChainCatcher, citing Cryptonomist, prediction market platform Kalshi recorded a trading volume of 5.1 billion US dollars during the first week of the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, setting a new platform record. In May, Kalshi's monthly trading volume had already approached 18 billion US dollars, also setting a then-historic high. During the same period, Kalshi announced an official partnership with the Argentine Football Association (AFA) for the World Cup, and Messi promoted the platform on social media.
