Australian 3-year government bond yields rose by 4 basis points to 4.47%, while 10-year government bond yields climbed by 5 basis points to 4.86%. A survey showed that, except for one economist, all economists interviewed predicted that at 2:30 pm Sydney time (UTC+8), when the Reserve Bank of Australia announces its interest rate decision, the official cash rate will remain unchanged at 4.35%; only one person forecast a rate hike to 4.6%. Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Michele Bullock will attend a press conference and speak at 3:30 pm local time (UTC+8).
