Among the 11 sectors of the S&P 500 Index, the Information Technology/Technology sector closed down 2.32%, the Energy sector fell 0.25%, while Telecommunications, Industrials, and Utilities each rose at least 0.59%, and the Financials sector increased by 1.49%.
